WHAT IS A SEPTIC SEWAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEM?
Some properties might not be serviced by municipal sewers. These properties have a treatment system consisting of tanks and a network of pipes carrying wastewater from your home. The natural bacteria present in the tank breaks down the waste to let the heavy solids settle down to the bottom and lighter scum floats on top. The liquid then passes through perforated pipes or weeping tiles for further purification. The water seeps through the ground, further being treated by bacteria and other soil organisms before entering the underground water.

HOW DO I KNOW IF MY SEPTIC TANK IS FAILING?
Inspecting your septic tank at intervals is important to keep it functional. Here are some signs your septic tank might not be functioning as you expect:
